In the recent years, there has been a huge revolution in the aviation industry in India. With the launching of low cost flights by Air Deccan four years back the aviation industry in the country has seen how a newly formed airline can drag crowds from major airlines. One such low cost airline in India is Go Air. Go Air is a wholly privately owned company of the Wadia Group , the majority owner of textile company Bombay Dyeing and Britannia Industries. For its services and airfare Go Air is considered as one of the strongest low-cost carriers of the country. Go Air, a Mumbai-based low-cost airline was established on June 2004 and declared its plan to start operation on the Indian sky on June 9, 2005. Initially Go Air planned to start operation from October 2005 with 20 leased Airbus 320 aircraft in southern and western region of the country and by 2006 Go Air added 11 more aircrafts to its fleet and planned to purchase 20 to 40 new aircrafts from Airbus and Boeing. It was on November 4, 2005 that Go Air operated its inaugural flight on the Indian sky. GoAir's main base is at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.
At present Go Air has scheduled services in 13 Indian cities and operates 385 flights in a week. The cities that flights of Go Air cover are-Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, Bhopal, Indore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai and Cochin.
