Since its beginning the Oman Air is owned by Oman government, individual shareholders and handful of big organizations in Oman. With a staff strength of more than 1000 Oman Air operates domestic flights to Muscat, Khasab and Salalah and international flights to a few cities in the Middle East countries, Bangladesh and India. Due to the increase in air traffic, Oman Air is planning to extend its operations to other important cities like Singapore, Milan, Frankfort, Bangkok, London and Kuala Lumpur.
Presently the fleet of Oman Air comprises of the aircrafts like ATR 42-500, Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-700. However, more aircrafts are being taken on lease to cater to the increasing traffic and expected future expansion.
After Cochin International Airport started its international operations, Oman Air took the plunge and made a foray to Cochin. Since then the Oman Air is regularly operating services to and from Cochin. With the commencement of Oman Air flights the air route between Cochin and other parts of Oman has become easier and convenient. Moreover, there has been a substantial increase in air traffic of travelers and business visits too.
