Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) built at one corner of the country at a place named Nedumbassaery, situated around 25 kms of the port city of Cochin in Kerala. CIAL regularly handles international flights to and fro to Cochin. The airport has been built up with state of the art modern technology. The aim is to provide qualitative service to the passengers directly arriving at Cochin and also those who are transit passengers bound for other overseas destinations around the globe.

Cochin International Airport provides multifarious facilities to the passengers bound for international destinations across the globe. International Airport enclosures have parking arrangements, which can accommodate around 1100 vehicles. During the arrival and departure period, the international enclosures of the airport have the capacity to control around 400 passengers or slightly above both ways. There are in all 12 checking counters available. The customs department opens substantial counters both for the passengers arriving and departing from the city. The number of counters for the customs department depends entirely upon the rush of passengers

There is an international terminal complex at the airport. It has the capacity to cater to the rush of huge number of passengers, (say around 400 passengers) during the peak hour. The aerobridge provides the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers. A huge 6000 square feet duty free shopping complex is available for the passengers arriving at the airport and 1250 square feet duty free shopping complex for the passengers departing from the Cochin International Airport. The arrival complex has the capacity to accommodate 400 passengers. For the passengers arriving at the airport there are 8 immigration counters.

There is a transit lounge at the international airport which has the capacity to accommodate at least 100 passengers. The transit lounge controls the rush of transit passengers to different destinations around the globe. There is a special security zone area which has seating arrangements of 400 passengers. In this enclosure, the facilities like drinking water, tea, coffee and other beverages are provided to the passengers.
