Cochin International Airport is the first of its kind in India, after the international airports based in other parts of the country. Though it is situated in one part of the country, the international terminal building in the airport is a unique phenomenon of its kind. The medical checking facilities are also available at the immigration counter. There are two customs channels for the passengers arriving at the airport, such as red and Green Channels. Passengers are allowed to have access to the Green Channel as they don’t have any duty prone items. Those who have duty prone items they have to walk out through Red Channel. The Customs Division of the airport also arranges for 10 counters which includes among others counters for currency declaration and declaration of all properties and assets. This rule pertains to both foreign and Indian nationals.
