The Jewish Synagogue adds to the charm of exploring the attractions in Kerala. Located in Mattancheri, near Kochi, this historic Jewish Synagogue is known to be the oldest Synagogue. It was built by a prosperous Jewish community in 1568 A.D. Even today the Synagogue is nicely preserved and beautifully decorated with the religious scrolls of the original Old Testament and the exclusive copper plates. The Jewish Synagogue is in Mattancheri which is near Kochi. Kochi is about 218 km north of Trivandrum and 223 km South of Kozhikode. If you want to come from Kohzikode to visit the Synagogue then on your way you can take halt at Feroke or Kkodungallor for light refreshments. The Jewish Synagogue is open for the visitors from 10 a.m to 12 noon and 3 p.m to 5 p.m on all days except Saturdays and Jewish holidays.
